Terazid’s initiative “Let’s plant a tree together” on Saturday gathered more than 50 children and as many parents , grandmothers and grandfathers, who spared their time on the Saturday to plant one tree each in the Droujba 1 residential estate. The campaign was also supported by many of the company’s business partners among which Likata Bulgaria OOD, ET Kosta – Kostadin Zlatkov, Bulstroy Goup OOD, Factor Trade EOOD an others.
Over 60 coniferous trees and saplings were planted on one of the few green areas left around a children’s playground and 108 High School N. Belovejdov in the residential estate. Besides the familiar city tree types – birch, lime and red oak, there is a beautiful tulip tree among the newly-planted saplings.
“We are a Bulgarian manufacturer, our children, just like yours, play and grow in Sofia and that is why we have always aimed at approaching with care towards the surrounding nature. We hope, that our example will be infectious and we will provoke people to think more of what they do to keep nature green and clean.”, said Terazid EOOD Sales manager Mr. Velin Alexandrov.
The initiative “Let’s plant a tree together” is a continuation of another eco idea of the Bulgarian manufacturer of cement adhesives and plasters. At the end of 2009 instead of standard Christmas souvenirs Terazid EOOD presented their clients with live conical growing junipers. Some of the companies who received the green presents brought their junipers and planted them.
“We are glad to take the opportunity to greet you and Terazid’s team for your noble idea and the consistent environmental policy and expansion of the green areas in our city. Besides our moral support, please accept our modest contribution – small evergreen thujas”, is mentioned in part of the letter from Balkan Consult Commers EOOD.
Each participant received a certificate for their contribution to the noble initiative. Special labels were placed on the saplings with the names of their “owners”, who promised to care for them. In order for the event to be purely eco, all posters, invitations and certificates were printed on recycled paper.
Terazid’s green initiative is one more way of paying attention to care of nature only a day before the big Christian holiday – Palm Sunday and the day on which throughout the world, as well as in our country, the Earth Hour is celebrated.
This is not the first Terazid’s campaign with social orientation. Among the compnay’s charity initiatives so far are the heat insulation of two of the buildings of the whole day kinderkarten №16 in Pavlovo residential estate in the capital, the refurbishment of the Clinic in children’s urology at the MHATEM “N.I.Pirogov” and others.
Terazid EOOD demonstrates care towards nature not only via social campaigns. In 2008 the company successfully met all requirements and certified its manufacturing under the Environmental Management System (ISO 14001:2004).
