DECORA
Decorative mosaic plaster
Ready-to-use mosaic acryl-polymer mixture for protective and decorative coating on exterior and interior surfaces
PURPOSE
DECORA is ready-to-use finishing coat, based on acrylic dispersion with added coloured marble and granite stones and preservatives. The product is used for making fine protective and decorative coating for facades and interior premises. This plaster is particularly suitable for making protective coatings in areas exposed on great mechanical loading, like socles, fences, inner columns, etc. It creates colourful waterproofed surface.
The product provides a possibility for an extremely wide variety of architectural solutions for facades and individual facade elements with a wide range of 90 different colours.
PROPERTIES
❖ ready-to-use
❖ vapour-permeable
❖ water-repellent
❖ resistant to different weather conditions
❖ UV-resistant
❖ great mechanical strength
PREPARATION OF THE BASE
The base must be dry, strong and free of grease, dust and cracks. The surfaces should be smooth and free of holes. If necessary, separate uneven elements of the facade should be filled with rough coating.
In case of repairing facade surfaces, unstable areas should be removed and the areas with old paint and grease spots should be carefully washed. Repaired sections must have the same strength and bearing capacity as the old base before priming. Base processing with the primer TERAZID G-33 before applying the plaster is required.
CHARACTERISTICS AND TECHNICAL DATA
▪ Colour: according to catalogue;
▪ Type: homogeneous granular mass;
▪ Density: 1910 kg/m³;
▪ Resistance of vapour passing: µ = 205;
▪ Minimal temperature of film formation: +5˚C;
▪ Resistance of rain: after 24 hours*
(at normal weather conditions – temperature of 20˚C and air humidity – 50 %)
▪ Bond strength with concrete after 7 days: 1.40 MPa;
APPLICATION AND PROCESSING
The application of the mosaic plaster DECORA should start at least 24 hours after priming the base with TERAZID G-33. When applied on large areas, the content of 2-3 buckets of DECORA should be mixed in a bigger container.
Before the application begins, the content in the bucket should be stirred with the help of a mechanic mixer. Rusty tools are not allowed to use.
If it is necessary, the plaster can be diluted with water but not more than 100 ml per 10 kg of plaster and the mixture is being stirred again.
The thickness of the coating is defined by the marble grains which are manually applied with the help of a plastic mortarboard.
When applying the material, its thickness is being aligned of about 1.5 times the size of the stones in the plaster. It takes about 10 minutes after that for becoming completely smooth as the stones are getting maximally tight to one another (without any pores) for achieving the desired final effect. If it is necessary, the process of smoothing is repeated a few times.
It is recommended to work on one surface (area) without interruption. No unfinished surfaces should be left after completing the work.
When applying on adjacent areas with different colours, they must be separated with paper tape to protect the already applied plaster from staining.
Before priming and applying the plaster, parts that are not going to be plastered should be covered.
DECORA should not be applied under direct sunlight or in areas exposed to strong air drafts.
CONSUMPTION
▪ 4 – 4.5 kg/m²
TOOLS FOR WORK
▪ mechanical mixer
▪ stainless trowel
▪ plastic mortarboard
▪ brush
WEATHER CONDITIONS AT WORK
The minimum 24-hour temperature of the base should not be less than +5˚C, and the maximum not higher than +40˚C.
The product should not be applied during rain, when rain is forecasted, or under direct sunlight and strong wind.
FORM OF DELIVERY
Paste in a plastic bucket of 10 kg and 25 kg.
