Special fast-setting cement for floor screeds with accelerated drying
PURPOSE
CEM ONE is a special cement-based hydraulic binder for preparing floor screeds with accelerated drying. The product is used for interior and exterior application of levelling floor screeds over different building surfaces, where fast application of finishing coverings or waterproofing is required. The drying ability of CEM ONE within 24 hours to 4 days makes it suitable for:
-
Floor screeds, ready for walking after 24 hours and for carpet, PVC, or wooden covering after 4 days
-
Floor screeds, ready for ceramic coverings after 24 hours and stone coverings after 48 hours
-
Floor screeds with floor heating systems, without the need for special additives
PROPERTIES
- fast-drying
- normal hardening
- controlled binding
- high strength characteristics
PREPARATION OF THE BASE
The base should be strong, dry, and free of oil, dust, sand, and other contaminants or separating layers. All unstable areas should be mechanically removed.

APPLICATION AND PROCESSING
The required amount of CEM ONE, aggregates with selected grain size, and water should be mixed with a machine concrete mixer until a homogeneous mixture is achieved.
Typical ratio: 20 kg CEM ONE, approx. 140 kg sand, and 11–12.5 l water (depending on sand moisture). Add water last to achieve proper consistency.
The mixture should be applied within 1 hour after mixing to avoid layer separation.
Before applying the screed, place a polyethylene sheet or waterproofing membrane between the screed and concrete slab to prevent unwanted water absorption.
Apply the ready mixture in a single layer, manually or with a machine. Level using a stainless steel lute. The layer thickness must be 3–6 cm.
For floor heating systems:
-
Minimum screed thickness: 5 cm
-
Pipes must be laid at least 2.5 cm below the surface
-
Add a steel reinforcement mesh above the pipes
CONSUMPTION
-
Depends on the dimensions of the working area
