Flexible Cement-Based Tile Adhesive

PURPOSE

The flexible adhesive SUPER FLEX T520 has a composition with improved strength properties, achieved through the addition of monofibers and special additives.
It is designed for secure tile bonding on critical substrates.
The adhesive endures forced internal loads in newly constructed buildings and provides a flexible base for surfaces exposed to weather effects.

SUPER FLEX T520 has excellent hydrophobic characteristics.
Its high-quality properties determine its application for:

• Bonding ceramic and stone tiles up to 50 × 50 cm, both horizontally and vertically

• Bonding tiles onto many different types of construction bases (concrete, plasterboard, plasters, screeds, etc.)

• Bonding tiles on critical and deformable construction bases

• Bonding tile-on-tile (e.g., faience over faience, terracotta over faience, marble over terracotta)

• Bonding ceramic and stone tiles over waterproofing layers (e.g., swimming pools, water reservoirs)

PREPARATION OF THE BASE

Before applying SUPER FLEX T520, the base must be:

• Dry

• Well cleaned

• Strong

Application over oil (grease) stains, dust, or other contaminants is not allowed.
Bases with high absorption should be wetted or primed beforehand.
Suitable bases include:

• Concrete

• Cement screeds

• Mosaics and plasters

• Gas concrete

• Gypsum plasterboard

• Gypsum fiberboard

When bonding tiles over old tiles, the surface must be pre-treated with TERAZID G-22.

APPLICATION AND PROCESSING

For complete dissolution of 25 kg of SUPER FLEX T520, around 6.5 litres of water are required.
In a prepared container, pour the water and gradually add the dry mixture.
Stir using a mechanical mixer until a homogeneous mass is achieved.
Leave the stirred mixture to “mature” for 5–7 minutes, then stir again before application.

Recommendations:

• Use a notched mortar-board with an appropriate notch size based on tile dimensions and base type.

• Ensure the adhesive covers at least 60% of the tile back.

• For exterior works, apply adhesive to both the tile and the base.

• Do not dip ceramic tiles in water before application.

Correction time: About 60 minutes.

WEATHER CONDITIONS FOR APPLICATION

The minimum 24-hour temperature of the air and base should not be lower than +5°C, and the maximum should not exceed +30°C.
Application during high air humidity, rain, or when rain is forecasted is not recommended.
